Lot of Links coming to my site from one site?

Does it matter and how much it affects.

I have a website selling different products. My site has more than 100 individualpages for more than 100 products.
I found a website which is kind of directory in my field so I paid the guy for advertising on his website. Now for each product on his site there a link back for same product on my site.
But there are like more than 100 links coming from his site to mine. Its a very good advertisement for me doing like this.
Can this affect my Pr or ranking in any ways.
I am not doing anything wrong and want to practice fair SEO. Let me know.

Be very careful, this would be fine if you had lots of different links coming into your site from a variety of sources and then this happened......I have no proof but it would be something I would be watching for if I were google.

Well, out of your external links if the main sourec is that websit, somebodt might file a complaint to Google and both the website maybe penalized. Take care Deepak.......Nakul

Hey dupac

If you don't link back to him there won't be a problem - you can't get penalised for something that happens on someone else's site or they could do it deliberately to get you in trouble.

That said, the more links and the more diverse, the better...

Thanks for reply. Well I dont have any backward link to that site. that site is like a directory as Dmoz but for only of the product i am dealing with. The direcory site also have similar kind of links goin to other site also.

I have a similar query and I wonder if I am at risk?
An exactly on topic version of my UK site from the US suggested exchangimg links. He wants 15 PR6 links (out of 200 pages) from my site and he offers 200 PR5 links from every one of his 200 pages. I only have about a half dozen other fairly high PR links, some are mutual, some are not.
