Hi, possibly most of you know about this and it was posted before, but.

I'm nearly newbie with this. I started linking campaings looking for keywords "add site" queries and combinations, bored viewing serps I followed with link:competitors and so on...
All of this is ant work, hours wasted ending with questions like where are good ones?

Now at some skill, I get fast results recognizing neighborhoods:
I get a site related to the activity which wants reciprocal, take its links page and identify others to ask for too.
Simply surfing this links pages I can find very related, good/high pagerank, and very prone to link back sites - they did it to be there.
If activity is large enough, I can do this for long time.

I hope it can be useful for people starting or disorientated.

Yes, this is a great way for finding websites open to recips, and some that don't require it.

Another thing to think about is whether or not you want to target Ask Jeeves- if so, doing a keyword search and link hunting the link sections is a good idea there as well.

Jeeves will show you some great "neighborhood" sites so they're a good place to visit as well.

A lot of people find links using this strategy here and at other forums using this system. Really works well.

People I now have attained PR6 by devoting time and effort and working with patience.
