Hi, can anyone tell me if it is possible to find out all the sites that list my website? When our company started up submissions were made to certain sites but were not linked back from us and I want to clean up sort out all the sites that link to my website. I have tried using the google link: thing but its rubbish. Anyone got better way?

a good starting point would be your server logs. check out your referers. i have literally hundreds of referers that i didn't know about until i studied my logs.

you will miss a few but at least you will have a list of the ones that supply traffic.

Referrers are one way, another is to use the backlink tools that many search engines offer. For example, go to Google and search for link:www.whatever.com and you'll see some of your backlinks (though not all).

There is a tool that I use quite often for this purpose, mainly because it's quicker than typing in (and remembering) all of the ways to find backlinks on engines. It's called the Link Popularity Checker. [mikes-marketing-tools.com] Throw a URL into it, then click the links in the popup to see your backlinks.

Google's link command always had its quirks, and they seem to be increasing over time.

Try using alltheweb, their link: command shows substantially more backliks than Google's, at least for most people.

Yes. You are right. Lots of Link Checker Scripts are out there on the web. My own website has one but not posting URL for TOS.

I like Marketleap's link popularity checker.
