Can googlebot follow the links from within an MAP AREA, for example :

<map name="FPMap1">
<area target="_blank" href="http://www.mydomain.com" shape="rect" coords="244, 9, 352, 24">
</map>

I guess it can because it is still a regular HREF link but I'm not totally sure. Can anybody help.

Administrator : I previously posted this is the wrong cat.. sorry.

Although Google will follow those links, need info, keep in mind that you won't get the same link text benefit. Internal link text doesn't seem to be as powerful as that from other sites, but I think it's always good to use text links where possible.
