I once saw a site that allowed you to enter your url and get results of how many links you have compared to other sites such as amazon, ms and others. You could enter up to three urls and find out where they ranked compared to you. I unfortunately forgot what site this was.. Does anyone know what site this was on or a site where I can find something similar? Thanks!

I believe that URLs to tools are frowned upon, but a Google search on link popularity checkers should give you lots of possibilities.

Thanks for the info. They are frowned upon as far as using to see where you sit as compared to your competition?

Sorry, coconubuck, I was not clear.

What I meant to say is that WebmasterWorld frowns on dropping URLs, see the TOS [webmasterworld.com]. The lines are not always clear, but I tend to be very careful.

I think Mohamed meant that the posting of URLs for SE tools is frowned on here.

Whether Google frowns on the use of these tools is another matter. Since it would be easy enough to shut them down if Google wanted to, one presumes that Google tolerates their use.

ah ha! Thanks for the clarification. I see what you mean now. I apologize and withdraw my question. Thanks!
