Hey guys,

I'm a rookie here, and let me say. You guys answer so many questions that I have. I just want to say Thanks a bunch. Anyways, here's my question. I'm in the process of building a website. It's a ticket broker website. When I look at other ticket brokers links (in google to see who's linking to them) it shows a list of 500 results, where 300+ of them are links to within their own website. However, when I check my links, I do not see links from within my own website. How do I do that? I'm not sure if that was clear enough, like I said I'm new, so I'm just learning as I go along. Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!

Joe

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Hova! It's probably because of PageRank differences. Generally, links show when they are on pages of PR4 or higher. If their site pages are higher PR than yours, that could be the difference.

So if the case is solved by the PR4 matter (which I never knew about:) then all is good. Otherwise you might want to try linking pages together in your site that are of similar content. Unless you have a huge site then be careful of too much cross - linking otherwise you will receive a penalty.

Good luck:)

Can you post approximate number of pages you have on your website? That could help people here to estimate the number of cross linking (Internal) that should be okay for you.

Too much internal linking can cause a problem.

Hova, if you follow a logical pattern in your internal link structure you'll be fine. That is, you will probably have some first-tier pages below your home page, another tier below those, etc. You can highlight important content with a link from the home page and/or your other high PR pages. Don't stuff too many links on each page, as it will dilute the PR distribution. Don't set up big networks of crosslinked pages, either - it won't help, and it could hurt. Just use a logical structure, with some extra links where you need them. Use links in the content when appropriate, too. Your PR will sort itself out just fine.

To boost the PR of the site, of course, you'll need external links. Most of these will point to your home page, but you can also target some interior pages if you need to.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the replies. As I said before my website is a ticket website. It will have approximately 400-500 pages when done. you can visit it at TicketLocator.Com. Alot is still being done, and I'm constantly changing the appearance so it's more user friendly. We have a main website, however, I'm trying to build a new one, to excercise other means of advertising. please visit it, and see for yourself. Any advice, and or critism is very much appreciated! THanks Guys!
