Very different results from keyword analyzers?

I recently checked my keyword density with 2 differnt online services and got WAY different results....

I used Brett's KWD analyzer and one at ranks.nl.

For one of my major keyword phrases, one analyzer showed 12.73% density and the other showed 4.03%

Any ideas on why? And what should I go by?

I've noticed that some don't read links - so if you have your keyword in a lot of links, that alone could make a difference in density.
