Keywords with a Suffix?

Wanted to solicit a few opinions on keyword density…
In determining keyword density, does Google count words with an added suffix the same as the root of the word?

For example…

Does the word “swimming” also count towards the keyword density for the word “swim”?

nope, Google doesn't stem words.

example:

swim = 3.37 million results

swimming = 7.3 million results
