HI Gurus,

IS there any way to capture the user's zip code in the backend?

It would be great if you share any working script to do the same. :)

Best regards,
GP

Er... capture from what? Has the user filled out a form which happens to include a ZIP code, or are you thinking about pawing through the bowels of their computer to see if you can find a zip code anywhere?

You can purchase an IP database that will come close to being the user's Zip code. It just lists the Zip code of the company that owns their IP range. But it's usually close enough if you want to pull up "local" results by default.

Sure, if the user is based in metropolitan New York City. Looking up my own IP, my putative location is up to several hundred miles from where I really live.
