Respond.min.js and IE8

I'm testing respond.min.js and conflicts. There is an issue with
IE8 throwing error like:
'undefined' is null or not an object respond.min.js, line 6 character 845

Error is the following:
{var d=a.match(/@media[^\{]+\{([^\{\}]*\{[^\}\{]*\})+/gi)

Why is this actually?

I'm using currently Respond.js v1.1.0

Maybe 'a' is not a string object?

Are other browsers not reporting this error, or are other browsers simply not alerting you to this error?

Are you viewing the page via a file:// protocol instead of http:// or [?...] That is known to cause respond.js to not work due to security restrictions.
