I have to be missing something. I can't believe dreamweaver mx 2004 doesn't allow you to grab a folder (and therefore it's associated contents) from a defined site and move it to another folder within the same site.

I'm just trying to make folder 1 a subfolder of folder 2...seems like the only way to do this is make a new folder in folder 2 and move the files from folder 1 to the new folder I made in folder 2.

...seems very inefficient to me.

It worked for me. I just did a right click/Edit/Cut, and then pasted it in the new directory. It then ask if I wanted to update the linkage.

Yes, bumpaw is exactly right. This is one of the important features of DW and it does work exactly the way you want. You can move files and folders at will with automatic links update. There may be some bug in your installation? Are you working remotely? Are you using Contribute which might 'lock' the folders?
