I built my website long ago...and due to unforseen circumstances had to stop working on it. Now I have gotten back into it after about 5 months. I am trying to reconstruct some things. I am using Dreamweaver MX by the way. I cannot seem to delete existing webpages off the remote server. Is there a way to do this? I deleted them out of the local folder, but yet the pages still exist on the internet. Please help me if you can. Thanks!

Using Dreamweaver MX navigate to a place where you can see your remote files (e.g. using Remote View rather than Local View), highlight them and hit the delete button (either on the Dreamweaver page or on your keyboard).

Thanks man, I've tried that. While I finally got the actual webpages to go away when I try to go to one of them, I still see them in my remote view. Every time I start Dreamweaver back up, the htm and jpg that I deleted are back. At least they are gone from the local server and from the web. But now, is there a way to get them out of the remote view? I have tried the deleteing them multiple times.

Thanks for your help! I'm going to be here often. haha

Go into manage site, and then unselect "enable cache". It's possible these files are stuck in cache.

I noticed the same problem yesterday. I normally delete with WS_FTP and so when DW wasn't getting it done I had to go in with WS_FTP.

In regard to unselecting "Enable Cache" option there is this from DW help files:

For the Enable Cache option, indicate whether to create a local cache to improve the speed of link and site management tasks.
If you do not select this option, Dreamweaver asks you if you want to create a cache again before it creates the site. It is a good idea to select this option because the Assets panel (in the Files panel group) only works if a cache is created.

Thank you to everyone who replied. I finally got it done. A friend of mine came and helped me out. I also checked out the cache problem just in case. All is well now, thanks again.
