An internal web group is working on a project which requires allowing customers to upload images to our website. I work outside of the group on the security side and want to use a tool that would scan the image for file type, viruses, etc at the application level before we accept and load onto our storage device.
Before I left the web world there was a company in San Rafael California that had commercial software for this, but their name escapes me.It may have been an WYSIWYG tool that had real-time scanning options attached. The key for me is I want to scan at the app level to assure we are not getting any non image file, so the tool would look for jpeg, gif, etc... and run a virus scan. On error it would return a message to the client.
