Dreamweaver bug? </TR> tags are disappearing!

Some of my </TR> tags have randomly started disappearing from my sites

Hi there

I've been using Dreamweaver MX for 18 months now and have never struck this issue before. And now, suddenly, it is affecting both myself and a collegue (we work on different computers, but our respective website files are stored on a common hard-drive).

It affected me while I was putting the finishing touches to a website last week (and actually using Dreamweaver MX at the time), and my collegue noticed the problem when she turned her computer on this morning and saw that a whole lot of her files have been 'modified'.

Again, we were both working on different sites and on different computers, but the files for each of our sites are stored on a common hard-drive.

What's been happening is that somehow in Dreamweaver, a seemingly random selection of closing TR tags (ie </tr>) are disappearing from the site's files. So suddenly every page on the site screws up, and upon validating the lack of some </TR> tags is evident.

On a 20KB page, sometimes there are up to 10 </TR>'s missing.

Does anyone know what could be causing a random bunch of </TR> tags to be disappearing like this? It's never happened to either of us before and is very frustrating/scary.

Not sure about this particular problem, but I know that I have done hand-code tweaks to Template/Library code and left code fragments which caused Dreamweaver to hose my actual page code.

Example: If I leave an opening '<div>' in a library item that I forget to close, then my pages that use that library item -- after the library is inserted -- go haywire trying to close that div.

[w3.org...]

The end tag for the tr element is optional.

Hi Gregg

Thanks for your suggestion - I remember when it happened to me, I had made a change to a Template.

Also, before she left last night my workmate had been changing her Library items.

I think your suggested cause of the problem is a very valid one! I shall investigate further.
