therefore i tried to publish my site to my new dir at my webhost but all the time i get a msg that the site doesnt have the fp extentions.
neither me or the support team knows what to do, they uninstalled and reinstalled the ext couple of times but it didnt help.
i think that the problem is that im trying to publish to a dir (www.something.com/~djyaniv) and not to a domain, am i right?
pre fp 2002 there was a bug in the ftp side and some extension didn't work properly.
Try publishing to a local system and upload the the whole site

I read at a host's support forum that different
versions of front page extensions work or don't
work depending on the version of FP you are using
on the client end to upload to the server with.
That host only installs one version of FP extensions
on any one particular server. They install different
versions of FP on different servers, and put your account
on whatever server is set up with the FP extensions needed
to work with your version of FP.
Also, that once you upload with one version of FP,
you need to keep using that version in the future
when you upload to THAT webhost account, else you will have
problems. Unless of course they change the version
of FP extensions they have installed on their server.
So maybe ask them what verison of FP they support?
Hope this helps (and is correct!).
Take care,
Louis
A couple of things...
When you publish try [something.com...] (note backslash at end of URL).
Also, not doubting your host but maybe they might need repaired. This utility [dnswiz.com] should let you know.
<edit>Using different version should not be a problem. I have several sites that I have used FP98, FP2K and now FP2002 on with no bad results. I would however suggest getting SP1 for FP 2002 before using.</edit>

Actually, if your host has a Windows 2000 box with IIS5, you can run both FP2000 and FP2002 extensions side by side. I even believe that you can run FP98 extensions. We've had some minor issues with sites using FP2002 extensions and reverted back to FP2000 just for those sites. We have since then corrected those problems (an MS Bug/Duplicate Includes) and are now using mostly FP2002 extensions.
The extensions are not automatic. The host needs to turn them on for your site. Or, you should be able to do it through your control panel. If not, then they may have a problem somewhere.
