I'm using dreamweaver mx 2004

Anyone know why the program would have a problem with me copying a form from another page into my editable region on a page? I've created a new page from a template I've used a ton, and I'm trying to copy a form from another site into the editable region.

After I copy and switch from code view, I get a message saying I've made changes to text that is not marked as editable. The file I'm copying from isn't read only, and even if it was, I don't see how that would effect code copied into a totally new file. It has something to do with the from as the problem doesn't manifest itself with other code.

Frankly, I think I should be able to do what ever I want in my editable region. Copy code, a recipe, whatever.

I've found that error occuring for no reason as well. I think it is a Dreamweaver bug (yet another). Try closing it down and opening it again and hopefully it will go away.

If that doesn't work try opening the file to copy in another text editor (notepad, wordpad etc.) and copying the relevent part then pasting it into Dreamweaver and you should be OK.

This was one of the bugs that made be decide to drop DW and go back to a good text editor instead.
