I had been only a hobbyist with Frontpage until a couple of weeks ago. Now I am a novice. I modified a template to get the layout I wanted. It worked fine. The I went to insert some google site search code. I have been able to insert adsense code using the advanced tools-html option. But when I try to paste the google site code in, the page layout blows up.

Hours of trouble shooting have been to no avail. I have kicked the cat and my wife is made.

I have posted two pages as samples from the web. The page with the problem includes notations as to the cell settings. The problem is illustrated at [snip].

I recall having seen discussions about tables in front page and how to handle them--with % or specified widths. I obviously should have paid more attention.

I welcome anys suggestions on a resolution of this particular problem as well as advice on how to prevent this in the future.

PS. I know that many of you find Frontpage horrible but it is what I got.

In Page view, place the cursor where you want the Search box to appear. Go to Edit - Paste Special - Treat as HTML.

If you're trying to insert into a table that is smaller than the search layout, it's going to expand the table. No way out of it that I know of.

I haven't had many woes with FP that weren't self inflicted.

2003 is a big improvement.
