I wanted to know what is the exact process to create a webpage in dreamweaver once someone provides me a design done in photoshop or corel to be used.
The design or layout of the page is done in photoshop which has the left side navigations and center space etc...now if i have to create a page in dreamweaver using that layout how do i do it?
You will need to read up on the slice tool (essentially click and drag over your image to set a slice) but when done use the following for Photoshop (Sorry - don't use Fireworks):
File > Save optimised As
it will export the page as HTML to the same directory as your image is stored in (by default - change this by File > Oupout Settings > HTML) which can give you a base to start from.
When it exports it will export all the blank space as images so you will need to open the result in DW and delete those then fill with the text you want.
once i slice a certain left navigation, do i save it with a particlular name ...save optimised as --- left.jpg and then proceed to the top bar etc etc....i could'nt understand the part about the page opening in dreamweaver? if i am saving separate slices as jpg, what page are we talking about?
sorry for the million questions...have'nt done this before and really need to understand this well....
thanks in advance!
You an then insert the html into your page. FW and DW combine admirably here with the 'insert firworks html' command. It only needs a bit of tweaking to sort the out the bloat. I don't use PS for web graphics but I am positive that image ready must have the same feature.
