.htaccess is hidden on remote view on Dreamweaver MX

Hi all

I am wondering if you can help me. In the local site view of Dreamweaver MX I can see my .htaccess file. When I upload my htaccess to the remote server I can see it in the remote view. However when I refresh the file disapears! I have tried everything to get DMX to show it - turned on show all files, show dependent files etc - have even set Windows to show all files - still no joy. I've searched Google but nothing.

Can anyone help?

I think what you are seening is normal, and has to do with security. I can't see .htaccess with ftp tranfer utility. I just go into the server control panel with the site hosting service to see and work with .htaccess.
