I know this question has been done to death, and my apologies for starting yet another thread on the subject.

I am currently using notepad to construct webpages and am perfectly happy with it except I would like a couple of extra features to assist when I am editing large amounts of text.

1. A spell checker
2. a line justified display to obviate horizontal scrolling.

Another desirable feature, but not essential, would be a search/replace facility that remembered the last search term entered when clicking on a new page in Windows Explorer.

Any recommendations?

Harry

notetab (free & pro versions available) has some of those abilities. it has a clip programming feature that if you know how to program it (i don't - i let others make programs for me), it can do a large variety of tasks for you.

Photon, I downloaded html-kit a few days and am impressed. I had a little trouble using Tidy validator, and couldn't really find a good help source. Do you have any clues?

bumpaw--

Here are a couple of resources--one's an overview, the other has detailed configuration info:

I use Allaire HomeSite 4.5. Does what I need, has a nice folder view, plus colors the html nicely.

After about four years of trying everything I could find, I ended up with EditPad...both a free version and eventually I bought their $40 Pro version, more as a thank-you gesture than any real need to upgrade. I'm very fond of having line numbers and syntax coloring to help catch my typos, and the tabbed multidocument feature is very nice, especially since the color of the tab lets you know if the file has been saved or not. EditPad also has a Linux version.
