FrontPage Woes

FRONTPG.exe has generated errors

Hi
Can anyone help me with the following:
I am using windows 2000 pro and office 2000
All the programs work OK with the exception of Frontage.

I was using Frontage OK and closed down as normal.

However when I opened up again and tried to open Frontage I got the following:
Programme Error msg.
FRONTPG.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to re start the programme.
An error log is being created.

I have tried the following:
Uninstalled Office 2000 and closed down my computer.
Opened my computer and reinstalled Office 2000 several times using different sequences of events.
I have also run Repair.
Still, when I try to open Frontpage I get the above Programme Error msg.
Any suggestions? I am just learning FP because it is required in this department, so would appreciate if any suggestions at all that may be pertinent.

I have exhaustively searched for 2 days trying to find anything on this problem, other forums, other help sites, MS knowledge base, etc. I did find this exact same problem on another forum, but there was no solution posted in the one reply to that post.

how about going to M$ web site and looking for updates for FP or Office. This generally works for me.

Sorry, NeedScriptsCom, I was editing the message to include that I have researched everything I know how - which has been very extensive. Since our software is Microsoft SELECT..........it comes with no support unless it is paid for (extra). I work with government, so paying for support isn't going to happen.:(

Were you editing a webpage/website when you closed? Do you have your settings in FP to open the last site automatically? Is the page/site still available?
Try going to explorer/file manager and right-clicking on a .html or .htm file and choosing "edit" and see if it opens in FP.
Also, make sure you go to your "temp" directory and delete all files within, and sub-directories/sub-folders.

may need to reinstall Windows - very hard to say what's broken. But check for a patch first as already suggested.

I meant.

1.) You cannot start FP so lets try the other way.

2.) Open MS Word and from the top menu, HELP and then select "Office on the web".

You will find bug fixes and other updates for your product.

If that does not work, than I am with Oilman

Mardi_Gras, I researched that topic and felt good that I had found a match for the error message, but fairly let down again when the events did not display Wmiadap was unable to load the Winspool.drv performance library due to an unknown problem within the library: 0x0

In fact, error logs were not created at all, even though the message indicated it was being created.

Quite a mystery.

Thanks everyone. I think I've exhausted all my avenues. I've tried all of the suggestions above and can't get past the error popup.

Looks like it's time to rebuild.....repair isn't working. thanks again for the input.
