On our school web page we used Fireworks and DreamWeaver to design the page & menus. It works fine on some computers but not all computers. When you rollover the link like Staff, it should turn grey and look like a button. As I said it works on some computers, but not all. On those that it doesn't work on, the button look will completely disappear after going over it. It turns black with just the words.

All the computers are running the same version of IE and are using Windows XP. It is running accross a T1 line. (Pentium 4 CPU, 1.60 GHZ, 512 MB RAM) So I don't think the computer itself is the problem. It has to be some setting on the computer. I did find a way to get it to work on the computers that weren't behaving and that was to change the internet options in IE and change the temporary internet files, versions of stored pages, to NEVER. I also had to delete all the temporary files before it would work. This doesn't make any sense to me. Plus you can't tell your viewers to do this to view our page. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Thank you

the computers must have visted and stored the page in cache prior to the update your talking about. If the computers were told to get the site from cache then they will. You cant make the computer do something unless you tell it to. New viewers should see the page as intended.

I know they should, but they don't. The only way you can get it to show is if you clean out your temp files & change the page update to never. After doing this it will show up on any computer.
