Is there free software available which supports internal linking? By this, I mean the contents menu I see on the left of professional PDFs and which allows me to quickly jump to the subject I click on.

I know OpenOffice supports PDF, but I haven't seen this internal linking stuff yet (haven't tried 1.1 yet, though).

Thx.

AFAIK, that option is only available in the full Adobe Acrobat program - it is something that is done in Adobe after it has been converted into pdf format.

pdf995 [pdf995.com] should do the trick for you I believe.

You will have to use pdfedit995 too for the hyperlinks.
Problem is the files produced are very big as optimisation does not work.
OpenOffice does not support internal linking or hyperlinking.
