I have ablock of text (well lots of it) and it is in MS word. It is styled using

normal(web)

it has the appearnce of carriage returns but when I copy ands paste it into dreamwever it just inlcude <br>

I have tried numerous combinations and find and replaces but I can seem to get it right. I dont want to have to go through lots of document adding <p> tags and deleting <br>

This cant be rocket science, but it sure as hell is puzzling me.

Cheers

I have no idea why but find and replace

^p

with

^p^p

As far as it looks there is already carriage return there, so god only knows.

May seem simple but - have you tried pasting it first into notepad (strippiing out weird word stuff), then pasting the notepad into Dreamweaver?

doesn't DW have a Clean up word HTML utility? Could that be any use?

Yes DW does have a word XML cleanup facility, its not the best tool in the box.

Cleaning the file through notepad works for me.
