I was editing some text when the hour glass appeared in a long loop and then when it finished its run the whole layout of the page went haywire. Yellow html tabs everywhere that totally screw the layout of the site in the "normal" view window. Every html element seems to be showing in this way on each page.
The previewed version is still the same but with the normal editing window showing such a messy layout I darent do anything with it in case I totally ruin the published version.
Ive tried re-starting and one or two other housekeeping bits n pieces but the damage is here to stay by the looks of it.
Has anyone come across this in FP and has anyone any idea how to resolve it?

I can always spot a FP user by the multiple folders on their HD: mysite, mysite1, mysite2... usually the result of a corrupted local site and republishing from the remote site.
I am no html expert but I know a little - usually more than enough to cope with FP.
Following your advice rogerd I tried publishing from the web back to my HD but it the layout problem remains - tabs all over the darn place. Im convinced Ive triggered a so called "user friendly" editing page that allows you to click on the html tab and then edit the snippet of code attaching to that element on the page.
As I say the problem for me is that all my tables are now out of sync and there is no way I can live with this layout.
Anything else to suggest?
Thanks for the input so far

Sorry for the delay in responding - early close for me yesterday (Parents evening at school - you know how it is)
Marketing_guy you have cracked it! The "reveal tags" function was the source of my misery and how the hell I switched it on I'll never know. But I will know what to do if it happens again.
Many thanks for all your input on this guys (or gals)

This is WW, and Scott and I are just following the traditions set by Brett and the veteran members. (One of whom is rogerd.) You really ought to direct your thanks at them.
This event might motivate you to learn more about html. Which should not stop you from using FP, but in critical situations it is a really big advantage to be able to understand the naked html code.
