Dreamweaver MX Library item problem

Hope that anyone can help me with this, it's driving me insane. I have a drop-down navigation menu that is a library item. Everytime that a change or update is made to the library item and I update the pages that use that item, I have to wait at least 3 or 4 hours. The site is around 150 pages. I've used library items before and I never had to wait that much for the site to update. Any help or suggestions that are given would be greatly appreciated.

How many applications do you have that are open at the same time? Is it a hardware issue, perhaps? Do you have other software(s) that hang in similar fashion?

Fwiw, I haven't had dreamweaver MX do that to me at home (yet) however, I just got a new PC about two weeks ago, so it's got plenty of system resources.

Is the issue a 'random occurance' or does it happen every time?

it happens all of the time. And it only does it with that particular library item.

How big is the library item? Could have something to do with it...
