Can't get a cell Background!

What's the deal here? I right-click on the cell or table, and then select the correct command from the quick-menu. When the grey command box comes up, the tick-box for 'background' is greyed out. I can't select it to browse for my background. I've even got my hands on a FrontPage update - but still no dice...

I've followed the same procedure on a friends computer and his FrontPage background tool works fine. The normal background function for a page works ok by the way.

I'm VERY frustrated. Please help me or I'll die. What am I doing wrong?

you could always edit the html directly.

<td bgcolor = "colorhere">

the world will be a worse place when everyone uses WYSIWYG editors, and forgets HTML.

freebase, go to Tools - Page Options - Compatibility.

On Browsers: choose Custom or Internet Explorer Only.
