Well I have got DWMX and have also bought a helpful guidance book to go along with it. In the book it states that Pop up menu's which drop down can be used as a navigation bar using either text/graphic links but however I'm having trouble with this.

I've typed in a single line of text, highlighted all the text and then behaviours and gone down to pop up menu as instructed but the options is 'deselected'. Where am I going wrong?

Hi uk_designer

I think it only works if you are highlighting a link.

I'm not really sure as I've searched for some help and found tutorials on the Macromedia and other sites but they do talk about flash which made me think that I needed to create several images to use as a base for the pop up. But then I've looked through my book again and it says text or images. It informs that you need to I quote
1)"to add a pop up menu position cursor at insertion point of page where menu is to go. If you're attaching the menu to a text element, you first need to establise a null link" (not sure what this means or how to create it)
2)Choose show pop up menu from the actions list in behaviours panel. The show pop up menu dialog box appears.
3)Use the following options to complete your menu:provides further details on how to enhance the menu

..you first need to establise a null link"

Just type a # instead of the link (in the link properties bit).

That should do it.

I wouldn't have thought so.

But then I don't use flash buttons any more.

If I wanted to do a menu system I would use the DW feature detailed earlier in this thread.

It works fine for me.

So 4eyes you'd use the pop up menu system but create the actual graphics in another program and export them to DW, I know that Flash MX can be used for graphics but I'm not really sure how to use the program.
Thanks

Sorry - I misunderstood

I use text links with css styling for all my navigation.

Can't help you there

I see what you mean now. When you said as discussed previously you meant about establishing null links! Now I'm with you.
