I'm sure this has been brought up dozens of times, if not more, but I'm having problems searching for the right keywords.

I have a client who wants to add a little news section and would like to add news every week. Basically he just needs to type text, no pictures, media or tags...just text. And it needs to display on the site in a little dynamic CSS section.

So my question is, is there any open source software out there that will accomplish this? I could see using PHP/MYSQL but for such a small request I was hoping not to have to spend all the time creating the front and back end.

Many, many thanks in advance!

wordpress is an easy solution. I think you'd spend more time customizing this than if you just setup a simple login, session checker, 1 table in a db, an input form, and the page to pull the data.

Some people though might be better at customizing a wordpress or similar CMS package.

I am hearing good things about Adobe Contribute.

And I want to evaluate it but since the eval downloads are unavailable, I can't say more.
