How to change alt tags site-wide

Using Dreamweaver find and replace

I'd like to add a few extra words into all my image alt tags. I don't want to replace the tags, just include additional words.

Initially I presumed that as the pages are templated, I could just add new text to the tags via this, but seemingly not.

Can I do this using find and replace? If so, how?

Thanks...

Search Entire Current Site For:
alt="

Replace With:
alt="added text[space]

Obviously it will only work for adding text at the beginning of the alt tags. Don't forget the space.

I am not sure that I am interpreting your requirements properly but here goes.

You can use find and replace to locate the tags but assuming that the words you want to replace are different on each alt tag you would still need to change them individually.

To do this choose Edit > Find and Replace then when the Find and Replace window opens select the "Find in Entire Local Site" site option along with the "Search Source Code" option.

Put alt= in the Find box and keep clicking "find next" to find all occurrences of alt=.

Edit: posted at same time as reply above.

Replace With:
alt="added text[space]

That worked a treat. All alt texts added to with just one click! Thanks.
