My problem is with the interface between the program, my operating system (Windows XP Pro), and my default browser (Mozilla, currently version 1.4RC3). I'm hoping that another Arachnophilia fan (I know you're out there ;) ) has encountered the same type of problem and can suggest a solution.
When I run Arachnophilia with Mozilla as the default browser for previewing the site, every two minutes or so I am interrupted by a popup window telling me that the automatic launch feature may not work for my browser and asking if I want to disable that feature. If I answer "Yes," it disables the preview feature, which is an undesirable result. If I answer "No," the program opens a new browser window to display the current webpage. "Cancel" gets the same result as "No." This persistent opening of new browser windows gets really annoying very fast...
The most effective work-around I've found is to run Arachnophilia with MSIE as the default browser. I usually do test my pages on MSIE, but I'd prefer to be able to use Mozilla to test them on the fly.
I don't remember having this problem under Win9x, but I've been having it persistently under WinXP, using several different releases of Mozilla. Can anyone suggest a solution (preferably something less drastic than abandoning Arachnophilia, Mozilla, or Win XP)?
Abondon the convenience of using mozilla as your "default preview" browser in Arachnophilia. And instead, just open a stand-alone browser window for mozilla.
So now when you want to do your "preview on the fly" you'll have to Save the document in Arach, and then hit Refresh on your mozilla window.
I know that's a bit of a pain. You'll have to decide if it's *more* annoying than your present situation.
