We operate four web sites. All of these are maintained in Frontpage. Using our ADSL network we can publish successfully to three of the four web sites, but the largest one will not publish through the ADSL. If we use a different ISP on a dialup connection then we can publish without trouble. Three of the four web sites are with the same hosting company and the problem site is one of these. The three are on separate servers within the hosting company’s server farm.

In the past we have been able to publish the site via ADSL and from several computers in our office network. We have not changed our office network, but the ISP was having some issues and high ping times. We had assumed the problem to be with the ISP, but now they have corrected the problems with the ADSL network. While connected to the ADSL network we can connect via FTP and transfer files without trouble.

The computers that we are using the Frontpage on are Windows XP Pro. The error we currently receive while attempting to publish via ADSL is “You do not have permission to do this operation. …” We can only browse some of folders/directories of the web site Windows Explorer and we cannot open the web site on the web server with Frontpage. The later would be because we receive the same error about not having permission.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Sounds like a server configuration issue - but alas, I use dreamweaver. Is the problem still happening for you?

Have you asked your host for the site if it's a permissions issue of some kind...?

The weird thing is that it is working yesterday and today, but that has happened before. Then a day or two later it will stop working again.

whats_up_skip,

Your ADSL ISP may be proxying some of your connections. Try setting "Use passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility" in IE Options->Advanced.
