Howz the day? or is it night out there? Well am Rahul, in my teens frmo India, rainy day right nw! - that was the intro
now on 2 the stuff.... I have registered a domain, its quite cheap here, u c! Though I am not a good programmer, I do have a simple basic knowledge abt php, cgi..perl, i "think".
Till date I always made my site with frontpage, i dumped dreamweaver, may b a bit foolish thing 2 do. I love everythng abt microsoft xpt taht it is not opensource.
Ideas:
1. Any good feature in frontpage I must use?
2. Any tips regarding it?
3. Should the skin of the site be colourful, what re the proffessional colors?Questions:
1. FP got mad yesterday, I mean frontpage2002. I made a form which sends an email... saved it, published it... worked fine!I again made almost similar page, inserted my email in the wizrd.... now it says my computer(server) doesnt have smtp. Why the hell must my computer have smtp, i know my host has it. anyways it shows that up always i close form properties, and tis page doesent work either.
BTW, i saved this page in a sub-web, does it matter?
2. Is there a script whereby I can create html, ar any extension file and save it online. Like webftp etc...(in regard 2 ftp)
3. Which is the best portal system available, i eman which one wuld u suggest, if u have used one
4. How to have a very easy template (skin, as i like it) system for my site. I use frames, so now, xpt for the content/man page, i change the other frames often to compliment "skin-change". Are there any better ways, css is one I know, something using php?
5. Am I asking a lot in such a short notice... plz dont mind, i dont want 2 wasted even a moment when my "own" domain is up! thaz y.
I wnet through this site, I must say, this is the ebst grp of webmaster I have found, congrats 2 each and everyone of u, especially the founder.
My advice - don't use frontpage at all.
learn to code by hand.
start simple - focus on content and usability rather than graphics and tricks.
And even though you are a teen, please try to write like an adult without all the "u c" when you mean to say "you see" and "u" for the word "you" and "2" when you mean either "two, too, or to".
