Which is a very comprehensive but clean interfaced, fast loading, customizable, purist-oriented text editor.
I have always used it for all my ColdFusion, HTML, Javascript, CSS, DHTML coding.
I am willing to share my different tips on macros and ftping.
It's been a while since they released a new version, so I am also looking for a newer purist-oriented text editor.
The ability to open big files is great, the find and replace is powerful(and undoable), I love being able to undo everything since I opened the file helps me find mistakes in my scripts more easily.
The syntax highlighting is good thought there are a few glitches.
I know you can perform a replace in "all documents" but that is just for those files that are open.
Is that what you mean or is there a browsable option for replacing too? Where you can select what directory to run the replacements?
I also love the macros, the tcl stuff.
I have all the coloring syntaxes.
The interface is fantastic, simple if we want it, and advanced as we learn more.
It is always fast to load and just get right into the code.
All my fellow coders use ColdFusion Studio or HomeSite. Which are okay, but don't force you to learn what you are doing. And always take a long time to load.
I hate kludgy, memory intensive WYSISWYG editors.
One of my favorite markers, allows me to take html that i got from viewing source, and eliminate all empty lines. Which get caused by any database backed application, so as to not show that code.
What else can I do with it?
Where is it's future?
I know we are a unique brand of coders, the purists. I am just sick and tired of the WYSIWYG'ers.
They don't understand that the use of those tools encourages bad coding.
