Using Pictures As Links

Sometimes when I post a Banner Ad, I will use the banner picture as a link and then create a cell beneath the picture and create a second link using words. That way, viewers will have the option of being able to click the picture or the words to view the site. The problem is, I can't always see the Banner Ad on my own Internet Explorer, but can see it in my Front Page Browser and I can see it on most other sites, but not all. I have clicked Refresh. I have also clicked Control and F5, and I still can't see some of them. Is there a possible problem using a picture link and a word link next to each other? Do I have to leave a space between the picture and the edge of the cell? If the picture is too big to insert into the cell, would it cause the entire cell to not be visible? I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Does anybody have any suggestions?

are you running any kind of ad blocking software?

The only thing that I have on my computer is Norton Anti-Virus Software. It is very effective at screening out viruses, but triples the time it takes to bring up any file.
I don't think it blocks ads. It does put perceived junk mail in a separate folder.

Oh, by the way. My Internet Explorer shows some of my ads and not others. All ads are visible on other people's computers. However, I have found two other computers of friends where the ads do not show for them either. But on everybody elses, they appear O.K.

Norton AV blocks ads in it's default setting based upon the sizes of the banner /image ..amongst other things.. such as the file name and or the directory that the image is in ..

Which is why some people can see your ads and others including you can't see them ..

Thank you for your help. This blanking out effect is not restricted to ads. It happens with other links in my site as well. And, it is always in a link that is conncected to a picture in some way. However, most of my picture links are visible. If it is the anti-virus software, is there a way of removing the ad blocking feature, without affecting the anti-virus protection?

(This Webmaster World is really good. Is there a website like this for installing software problems and helping with Windows Explorer Problems?)

I tested the Internet Explorer on my computer at home and it showed all of the pictures from every website that I looked at. The only things that it did not show were the pictures coming in over the email service. And then it showed little "X"s in little boxes and gave me the option of viewing them by right clicking. Every one came up when I clicked on them.
