Dreamweaver: Starting over (without really starting over)

Hi All,

I have two hosted accounts, with various elements of my "dream site" already online. My skills are improving and I'm ready to plan a "real site" (also some of the things about my current host, I really like).

If I start a "new site" in Dremweaver, using templates, orginized structure, etc, then upload the "root" folder into my current hosted accounts "root", will "other" (non-matching) folders be affected?

For example, the "old" set-up has a "/forum/" directory. When I create a "whole new site" (offline in Dreamweaver), The old "/forum/" directory, will be unaffected when I upload the new site (as long as the new struture has no "/forum/" directory).

I think I know the answer (duh), but want to be re-assured of not losing some important older work.

That is correct. If you do not create the directory in your home structure when you upload it will not be affected. We actually include our forum in our home (computer) site to facilitate software upgrades and copy of the database.
