Using DW to find all pages that link to the index page

I want to find all the pages that have links to the index-page of my site. How can I do this in Macromedia Dreamweaver? “Find and Replace” option does not work because there are many directories in my site, which have their “index.html’ too. Therefore in the html-code I can’t change, for example, “../../../something.html” into “../../../index.htm”.
Or how can I do the phrase “Business Encyclopedia” linking to “index.html” of my site’s root directory? Also without not effective “Find and Replace” option.
Or may be you know some other software, except Dreamweaver, that can do what I said above. Please, advise me what to do.

The find and replace function in dreamweaver is very powerful and can do site-wide find and replace.

If you want to replace a link to something.html to index.html you can do this easily.

Check you have selected the entire current loca site in the F&R dialogue box.

A quick "cheat" which you can use is to change the filename of the file you want to find the links to in the Files window. You will then get a pop-up box which asks you if you want to change the filename in all the files that link to this file.

Thank you very much. But may be I was not clear in describing my problem. Don’t you know how to count the number of pages linking to the index-page of my site? And again how to make the phrase “Business Encyclopedia” linking to the index-page of my site? If I do it with “Find and replace” I should find Business Encyclopedia and replace it with <a href="index.htm"> Business Encyclopedia</a>. But, for example, on page with address “website-promotion/before-starting/first-steps.htm” after this replacing the phrase “Business Encyclopedia” will link to the page with address “website-promotion/before-starting/index.htm” (to the index-page of “before-starting” directory not to the index-page of my site”). Of course, for this page I can replace it with <a href="../../index.htm"> Business Encyclopedia</a>. But what about the others? The same manual work?

Why not go folder by folder rather than site-wide, and then while you're at it make the link relative to the root like /index.html so you won't have to go through it all again.

ectect is correct in that you should link via the site root and in this case "/index.htm" will always be right no matter which directory you are in. You could also link via the full site URL with the same results.
