Remote Folders

If I create a new website in the manager, and my local folder looks like this for example:

newsite/
newsite/images/
newsite/pdf/

If root is 'www' on my server, should the host directory in setup be www/ or left blank (of course depending on your server, assuming my host directory is 'www')...

I have been setting up my local folders as:

newsite/www/
newsite/www/images/
newsite/www/whatever

Then leaving the host directory blank, but sometimes I'll find duplicate folders or nested duplicate folders in my local folder...or files don't upload correctly...at first it works just fine.

I'm sure it's just something I'm not understanding correctly about file structure or DMX...any help is appreciated.

Better to use another app altogether to upload your files to your new site DWMX does it but badly ..try wsftp or cuteftp (cutes "pro" is way better than the standard one )..

When you do open your site on the server you upload to the "public" area ..what you see as "www" is just a shortcut to it ..click it "www" and you'll see it opens "public"..
