Hi,

I have quite a few websites that need small updates quite frequently.

I've set up the remote site access to FTP and entered the ftp address for each site in the "Remote Web Site Properties" Tab(s).

Each time I access each website I get a "Name amd Password Required" dialogue box, which needs to be filled out.

Is there away to store that infomation so I don't have to re-type it everytime?

Thanks.

P.S. I tried ftp://username:password@domain.com but FP got very confused :)

I have one Intranet site that does that and as long as I check the "remember password" box all I have to do is confirm with the OK button.

Thanks Bill - thats interesting... I don't have a "remember password box" to check. I wonder if its a feature of using XP Pro in single Administrator mode [rather than with defined user accounts]?

Hi Bill, A little more checking

The server and users names are stored in the registry and in a recently used list rather than a website list! Not very scaleable :(

MRU List list of recently published webs in microsoft frontpage HKEY_USERS:S-1-5-21-2540900969-662629897-122677269-500\software\microsoft\frontpage\explorer\frontpage explorer\recent publish list\ 5

It does not seem possible to save the password to the key either. :(

I just rechecked that site's properties and forgot to mention that the site/server uses FP extensions. The dialog box with the "remember password" box is the login from the remote server. Sorry I wasn't clearer on that.

Usually I don't let FP control my FTP sites. I use different software for that.
