MS FP and CSS - Seeking tips for working with both

Moving from reliance on MS FP for design to using CSS +FP "other utilities"

I'm convinced that CSS based design is the way to go.

Are there people who have stuck with MS FP who have moved from "total design reliance on MS FP" to CSS design - whilst still using MS FP as their primary "website development/management" tool?

What problems or issues did you have to work through whilst making the transition?

"In aid of the transition" did you add any CSS tools to your tool set that "play nicely" with MS FP? What tools are they?

Are there MS FP + CSS tips or tricks that you have learned that make working with CSS in FP easier? Would you mind sharing some tips and tricks?

Is there reason to ditch MS FP if I'm moving away from table based design to CSS? I'm doubtful that the "table to CSS transition" - alone - is reason enough to abandon MS FP as the program offers a number of other helpful utilities. (Please, this is not an invitiation to MS FP flaming.)

I've never used MS FP's CSS toolset. Is the MS FP toolset worth using - or should I stick to hand coding or a third-party CSS tool that integrates with MS FP? Are there MS FP CSS toolset settings that make their toolset "work better"?

I'm sort of looking for a road map as I set out on this journey that marries MS FP to CSS. Is CSS+MSFP a good - or workable - marriage?

Hmmmm, I'm getting the impression that the 2 world - CSS and MS FP - are worlds apart.

So, I build templates by hand coding or building in code view.

I craft content in NotePad or WordPad. I insert that content into the templates.

What is there to MS FP that I might have use of in the above scenario?

I may use:

• MS FP version SSI
  
• MS FP form processor
  
• MS FP website upload utility
  
• MS FP simply to "manage all the files"
  

What else is left?

This doesn't exactly answer your FP questions, but I use DW in Split view (window is half code, half layout view). I type in the CSS (Css is not hard to learn - it's not....

I can hit F12 - page opens in IE; C+F12 page opens in FF. Makes it pretty convenient.

I use FP to develop and manage several sites which have CSS layouts. I must admit that I don't use FP to design the CSS. Sometimes I just use a text editor to write the CSS, but I have also made use of the TopStyle editor which can be plugged into FP as a replacement CSS editor.
