What are the settings and procedural practices to preserve mark-up?

Despite reading about this issue several times I've managed to forget the settings and procedural solutions for keeping MS FP from "messing with my mark-up". To make matters worse I can't find my printed notes. :(

Would someone please provide a quick primer on:

1) What settings one has to make to force MS FP to "leave my mark-up as is"?

2) Are there "best practices", when using MS FP, that help assure one doesn't unintentionally mess up their mark-up?

3) Isn't there an issue, when opening/saving pages, that can cause MS FP's proprietary tags to be reinserted in a webpage? How does this happen and how do I avoid this?

Hi Webwork,

1.In frontpage go to:
tools> page options> html source tab, click the circle where it says When Saving files: preserve existing html.

And Here in WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com] Is a post that might interest you.

I'm not sure if this helps you out or not, but I hope so.

I use Wordpad (comes with Windows). It never messes with my code. -Larry
