good upgrade but weak css positioning

ok have been trying the trial of mx (currently ud4)

and i like it - although think i need a bigger monitor now!

but having big problems with style sheet relative positioning, in wyswyg mode they still don't render properly and sometimes even freezes DW forcing me to restart the program, any tips for getting around this???

DW uses absolute positioning by default ... it would be better to switch to code view or both then manually dig your css codes there. Or better yet choose the Homesite (Coder) style. =)

For the freezing part, I also experience that when using the trial version since there is another software that runs with macromedia that is for the trial version.

I had freeze ups also till I upgraded to Win2000pro, and that's with the trial version of DW <snip>. And I haven't had any problems with CSS. In fact, I used it very little (CSS) till I started using DW. And the MX version has simplified my MySQL database programming to new heights. Don't get me wrong, wysywig is nice, but you better be knowledgable for those times when you need to really dig into the code. And having a server is a plus for fast development (use Apache with PHP for Windows). I've tried everything out there just about, FrontPage (a zillion years ago), notepad, Aracnophilia, HTML Kit (best free editor), and a few not worth mentioning. I am now a hardcore devotee and religeous follower of DreamweaverMX and FlashMX, FireworksMX, FreeHand10. What can I say, I LOVE MACROMEDIA. They are here for us webmasters and understand our needs. For myself, my websites went from months long hair-pulling unsatisfying experiences to top of line week long thrilling challenges. I redesigned some of my past sites and got rave reviews.

develclint, not to be mean but if you like the software so much why not buy it? If you dont support the people helping you make money what makes you think they will keep doing it?

Point taken. I will eventually get this fixed when I have the income through the smaller business I develop. I'm glad there are "other ways" so those of us who are imcome challenged can get a good start. When I have the means though, I will gladly and with great enthusiasm fork over the dough to keep the wheels of progress spinning. Well, back to finding more "ways", thanks for your concern.
