So here we go.

Been using FP for a year or so. Just last night.. When editing an existing site, when I would prompt to create a new page from existing. FP would only show local pages ie; nothing from my www server. Same goes if I try to save a page, it will only promot to save it localy not to the remote machine, I can still publish if i log in that way,,, but sometimes I just like to load the site make a few changes and log off. I un installed FP and Reinstalled , No Luck. I tried resetting settings...no luck. FP on all of my other remote machines works fine, Just the app on my main remote authoring machine fails this way. At this point ready to flush the hard drive and start over wih a comple new install.

I can browse the remote folders etc, just if I go to save this error happens.

Only special event that happend I did enable the firewall for upnp over network that day. Therwise business as usual.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld quincywalltech.

I've read your post several times, and I still am not clear on exactly what your problem is. If you open a site live on the server and work with it there are there problems? I usually work with sites on my local machine and then publish to the live server. Are you having problems publishing remotely? Maybe if you explained the problem you're having in a bit more detail...

Well we can clear this one out. I found the problem. Mabye if I tell you about the fix, you'll understand the problem.

Somewhere along the way I deleted the Web folder in mynetworkplaces. Not sure how. So when FP went to look in that folder for a site, no folder- no site.

Interesting enough. When I went to mynetworkplaces and tried to add a http:// site, Dialog box says invaid file format.

I checked on the other pcs and noticed that I was opening sites in the web folder and sure enough on the errant PC the Web fodler was gone.

It took a little bit of work to recreate it. It was several days ago, I rember reinstalling a window networking component and it recreated the folder, then added my sites to the folder again and all works now.
