In XHTML the name attribute is depreciated [w3.org]. FrontPage, up through version 2003 uses the name attribute on an <a> tag as an indicator for named anchors / bookmarks. (ex. Ctrl + G) This will bring up flags on some of the stricter validators.

How do those of you who use FP to make valid XHTML sites deal with this? You can't make FP's insert ¦ bookmark use the id attribute instead of name, and the hyperlink function will not list the id attribute as a link target. I've been simply hand-coding these types of links, but wondered if there were any ways to get FP to automate this process a bit.

No - not really. This is a drawback of using WYSIWYG editors. You are usually stuck with their code.

Not really. I'm not stuck with any code. I just can't use an automated feature that would facilitate site maintenance for me a bit.

Well you can try the S&R feature for some, but that is about it
