Hi guys,

I'm using:-

<a href="mailto:abc@xyz.com" style="text-decoration: none">Mail Me!</a>

It works with IE, but with Netscape the "To:" box is empty. It's as if it doesn't know where to send the email :o/

Can anyone help?

Many thanks.

PB

I never noticed this when I used to use Netscape (pre Firefox). Which email client(s) are you having the problem with?

I have always found that email clients are not consistent in their support for mailto but had never seen an instance of the destination address going walkabout.

It's been so long since I cared about Netscape that I had to check what versions I even have. 7.2 is the most current on this box, though it eventually got to 9.0.0.6.

At any any rate, Netscape is long dead and no longer supported either. I tried to replicate your issue, and the browser suite version on this box wanted to sign me up, configure email, etc., before even allowing me to send the email. I just closed out. (IMO, a waste of time to support Netscape or to help users stay with it.)

Thanks for trying.

Now tried it with Firefox and it does the same thing. If there is nothing really wrong with the code could it just be my PC?

Thanks.

Works fine in FF and IE from here. Opera, like Netscape wants to run a "New Account Wizard". I passed. Maybe a typ0 in the live code or a configuration issue with your email client.

Thanks again... I'll look into that.

I've moved on from Netscape, but do have a machine with it still installed.

Removed the style element and it worked. Put the style element back in and it failed. Not sure why. Just passing on the info.

Thanks :O)

I've tried that but it still doesn't work for me. I'll get people to test the site later today to see if it helps them.
