When i search for a site i am constantly being redirected it says 'jump' then redirects. I have been onto AOL they first advised i reset the AOL software i did this and it worked for 3 days now it is back. I asked AOL aagin and this time they told me to reset my internet explorer setting again i did this but still having the issues. Can anybody throw some light on this for me please. Also my PC gets most hassle from Microsoft especially updates and internet explorer is usually behind any problems.
Can i delete internet explorer from my pc - i have turned off windows updates..

Thank for your time

John

You do not have to use internet explorer; try firefox.

Why have you turned off windows updates? They are mostly about security, and may be important to your experience.

In fact, you may already have some malware.

Do you have a firewall? antivirus? Try using spybot also, to clean up your machine.

I cannot say for sure that your machine is infected - but it's a possibility worth being sure about.

I agree with Quadrille... turning off updates completely is almost suicidal as most updates are security patches to fix recent hacks that people have discovered into your system. I'd reconsider.

You can turn off auto updates and still be notified when there is an update from Microsoft. Then at your leisure you can check what is out there to be downloaded, and decide when you want to patch.
