Worth a read to reset your expectations about the scope of AI and it's limitations into the future.

An entire industry has been built - and will collapse - because people aren’t getting it.

The people who have temporarily gotten rich or famous on AI have done so by pretending that this outlier problem simply doesn’t exist, or that a remedy for it is imminent. When the bubble deflation that I have been predicting comes, as now seems imminent, it will come because so many people have begun to recognize that GenAI can’t live up to expectations. If it is for content production, it may be possible. But the content of the article seems far from the truth.

This Gary Marcus has a point and to perhaps add on, I always said, Ai is build based on our current understanding of the world which isn't very broad so the Ai by default will also have the same limitations that we fail to conquer. Lying or "hallucinations" is apart of the human experience so we should expect the Ai models, regardless of what perimeters you put, to eventually lie and make up #*$!, why? Because humans do that too.

Not being able to read the substack article, could anyone summarise it for me?

Would like to know reasons why the bubble will burst! :) (and when)

@Mark_A - seems the article has been taken down, but Gary Marcus published a follow up. Unfortunately it requires a subscription, which i don't have or want.
