Like Goggle Desktop, but for a Server? (And, not Google Mini)

Hey Guys,

We have a small office that is no where ready for Google Mini - heck, there's nothing small business about the Google Mini.

I was wondering if there were any ways to "MacGyver" the Desktop Google Search - say with Plugins - to allow people on the network to easily search the server files.

Or, if you guys know of any cost effective solutions from other companies.
