Ad-Aware SE personal was a free download from Cnet if you have tried please leave feedback on you experience.

My experience was great this program removed all adware like a dream like ebates moe-money-maker that one was the hardest to remove but this program was a miracle worker. It found 116 adware programs and removed them all for free (BONUS) and my computer runs faster for sure give it a try and let me know how it works.

I’ve been using this program for a long time now, and yes it’s a great program. Loads more better than Microsoft AntiSpyware (BETA).

Ad-aware is awesome, no doubt. In my experience, to ensure full coverage though you should run it in conjunction with Spybot Search & Destroy (also freeware). There are some forms of malware that one or the other may not catch, but running both side-by-side I've never seen a problem on any of the 50 users' desktops I manage.

Spybot also has a nice feature, called tea timer that provides real-time spyware protection. ANY process tries to edit your registry and you can set it to ask you whether to allow the change or not (registry changes are the most common infection point of spyware apps).
