Toolbar options disabled?

I just visited a site where the pagerank bar and info button (where I would normally check for backlinks etc) where both disabled. I've seen that when I visit G's pages, the "View Source" option is disabled, and I'm fine with that. But this is a new one on me. I'm a newbie, but am I still THAT wet behind the ears? Thanks in advance.

try reinstalling the toolbar. It says that it updates itself but until I updated it (after reading your thread) the back link checker was not available.
